<p>PURPOSE: An electric-based glass smelting apparatus is provided to maximize the efficiency of a smelting process by introducing direct heat from a molybdenum electrode rod and indirect heat from supper Kanthal to raw glass materials. CONSTITUTION: An electrofused cast refractory smelting chamber includes an electrode hole on the later side of the chamber. Lower refractory blocks(21) surround the lower side and the lateral side of the chamber. Upper refractory blocks(22) are stacked on the lower refractory blocks. A molybdenum electrode rod passes through a lower refractory blocks and is inserted into the electrode hole. Super Kanthal is inserted into the upper side of an upper refractory block. A power supply(50) supplies power to the molybdenum electrode rod and the super Kanthal.</p>
