PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material capable of restraining a gap at a cracked section of a buffer material even when the buffer material is cracked. SOLUTION: The packing material 100 is provided with a plurality of buffer materials 11-18 having three projecting sections P which are applied to three surfaces of a packed article 300 respectively spreading in different directions and arranged between three surfaces of the packed article and three inner walls of a packing box at the time of being packed in the packing box together with the packed article and stick outward to three respective inner walls of the packing box and respectively come in contact with three inner walls of the packing box, and an auxiliary sheet 20 covering at least a part of the packed article and retaining a plurality of buffer materials applied to three different surfaces of the packed article. The auxiliary sheet 20 has three openings H wherein three projections P of the buffer material are entered while the buffer material is retained, and a plurality of folding sections arranged between three respective openings.
