PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire capable of effectively restricting an occurrence of ozone crack by a simple configuration without increasing a mass of conventional type tire. SOLUTION: The pneumatic radial tire is provided with a carcass 10 which is constituted by a body 11, in which one carcass ply is extended from a tread part 20 in a toroidal to its bead portions through a side wall part 30 and engaged with a bead core 41 embedded at each of the bead portions 40, and constituted by a folded-back part 12 extended from the body 11 and folded back around the bead core 41, wherein an outer end position 12a of the folded-back part 12 is within a range of 20 to 40% of a tire sectional height SH measured from a rim diameter line position Y and the side wall part 30 has a thick wall part 32 where a surface part of a side rubber 31 corresponding to the outer end position 12a of the folded-back part 12 swells toward the outside part of the tire.
