Forming large brass foundry work and pipework

Large items of brass foundry and pipework are formed by stamping and welding, esp. by forming the principal element of the body of the workpiece in two part-spherical halves from a single blank with unilateral or bilateral tubulures and then assembling the two halves by welding. The two part-spherical halves are formed by stamping a flat blank thus providing two roughs having a reserve of metal in their central zone from which the final form of the tubulure is formed by local stamping.
