<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which opens and closes a platen, faced to a printing head in a determined interval, without interfering with the cutting mechanism of a recording paper and the printing head. <P>SOLUTION: In the printer 1, a printing head 20 is arranged in a posture directed not horizontally but diagonally above, also a platen 21, which is faced, at a constant interval, to a head surface 20a of the printing head as to correspond thereto, is mounted to an opening/closing frame 51 in a diagonal state, and the rotation center (43a) of the opening/closing frame 51 positions at the lower side than the head surface 20a of the printing head. A moving locus 21A of the upper end of the platen part 21 becomes a circular arc going away from the head surface of the printing head not upward but backward and does not interfere with the printing head 20. Just above the printing head 20 and the platen 21, a space which does not reach the moving locus of the platen part 2, is generated, wherein a second passage 36 is arranged and parts of the cutting mechanism of the recording paper, parts of a transportation mechanism of the printing paper, etc. are arranged between the second passage 36 and a first passage 15 so that miniaturization and also compactification of the printer are realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
