<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive recorder for preventing wrong record and reducing waste of storage capacity by accurately discriminating impact accompanying acceleration in a gravity direction at passing joints on a road surface. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding acceleration detected by an impact detecting means 20, when the acceleration in a horizontal direction is smaller than a predetermined set value and the acceleration in the gravity direction is larger than a predetermined set value, amount of displacement at an FOE point of the image information before and after the acceleration is detected is calculated, and whether the image information is an object to be stored or not is determined based on the size of the amount of displacement.
