PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely manage a battery pack to know whether or not the battery pack is used by an inappropriate method that operates a protection circuit. SOLUTION: The protection circuit 22 in the battery pack 2 controls charging and discharging of a secondary battery 21 to prevent the secondary battery 21 from being overcharged and overdischarged. A managing part 23 records operation history (the number of charging-stop times and the number of discharging-stop times) of the protection circuit 22 and battery deterioration information of the secondary battery 21 (the internal resistance value of the secondary battery 21). A control unit 3 determines whether the secondary battery 21 is appropriately charged or not and determines whether a mobile communication apparatus 1 incorporating the battery pack 21 is appropriately used or not based on the operation history recorded in the managing part 23 and issues an alarm in accordance with determined results. The control unit 3 also determines whether the secondary battery is deteriorated or not based on the battery deterioration information recorded in the management part 23 and issues the alarm in accordance with the determined results.
