PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fullerene derivative having a fullerene skeleton and an allyl group and/or a methallyl group bonded to four carbon atoms out of the carbon atoms constituting this fullerene skeleton, and to provide an efficient process for producing the same. SOLUTION: The process for producing the fullerene derivative has a step of reacting a raw material including fullerene, CH<SB>2</SB>=C(R<SP>1</SP>)-CH<SB>2</SB>-X (wherein R<SP>1</SP>is hydrogen or a methyl group and X is a halogen), and at least one kind selected from CH<SB>2</SB>=C(R<SP>2</SP>)-CH<SB>2</SB>-M<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>3</SP><SB>3</SB>(wherein R<SP>2</SP>is hydrogen or a methyl group; R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrocarbon group; and M<SP>1</SP>is Sn or Si), CH<SB>2</SB>=C(R<SP>2</SP>)-CH<SB>2</SB>-M<SP>2</SP>-R<SP>3</SP><SB>2</SB>(wherein R<SP>2</SP>is hydrogen or a methyl group; R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrocarbon group; and M<SP>2</SP>is B), and CH<SB>2</SB>=C(R<SP>2</SP>)-CH<SB>2</SB>-M<SP>3</SP>-R<SP>3</SP>(wherein R<SP>2</SP>is hydrogen or a methyl group; R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrocarbon group; and M<SP>3</SP>is Mg or Zn), in the presence of a palladium based catalyst.
