PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper container which has superior barrier property, water resistance, retort resistance, etc., and when heat-sealed with a lid material, hardly allows a sealing failure, such as contents leakage through a seal, to occur. SOLUTION: The paper container is made by piling up the inner surface and the outer surface of a paper box with an inner surface resin film and an outer surface resin film, respectively, and is provided with a flange. The inner surface resin film coating the inner surface of the paper box is a size larger than the inner surface of the paper box, and the outer surface resin film coating the outer surface of the paper box is a size larger than the outer surface of the paper box. The inner surface resin film and outer surface resin film are bonded together to cover the paper box to form a structure in which the flange portions of the paper box do not overlap each other or to form the paper box without a flange.
