Provided is a sliding type tripod constant velocity joint equipped with a needle unit which can prevent the detaching of rolling elements in a state where the rolling elements are introduced into a cage. The cage (60) for the constant velocity joint (1) forms a revolution path which is the trajectory of the rolling elements (50) that revolve, and consists of a first revolution path forming member (70) and a second revolution path forming member (80) which are a pair of members that are connected facing each other in such a way as to support both axial ends of the rolling elements (50). Furthermore, at least one of the revolution path forming members (70 or 80) comprises a window section (75 or 85) which is opened in such a way as to permit the rolling elements (50) to be introduced into the revolution path from the lateral side in the direction of revolution; and a guard section (76 or 86) formed in such a way as to extend from the periphery of the window section (75 or 85) in the direction of the introduction of the rolling elements (50). After the rolling elements (50) are introduced into the revolution path, the guard section (76 or 86) is crimped onto the opening portion of the window section (75 or 85) to prevent the rolling elements (50) from passing through the window section (75 or 85). |
