OPTICAL DEVICE, SOLID-STATE IMAGING DEVICE, AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device that prevents unnecessary incident light or reflected light from entering a light-receiving unit from the end surface of a transparent member.

SOLUTION: The optical device 1 includes: an optical element 7 including the light-receiving unit 8 on a top surface; the transparent member 12 deposited on the optical element 7 to cover the light-receiving unit 8; and a sealant 16 formed to seal around the transparent member 12. The transparent member 12 includes: a first protrusion 12b formed in the upper region of a side surface of the transparent member such that a step 12a is created on the side surface; and a tapered surface 13 on the end surface of the first protrusion 12b, the tapered surface being sloped such that the cross-sectional area of the transparent member 12 decreases towards the upper side of the transparent member from the lower side. The sealant 16 covers entirely at least the side surface part of the transparent member 12, the side surface part being located below the first protrusion 12b.
