<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a settlement system for easily managing personal data for settlement, which is required for settlement, and excellent also in security. <P>SOLUTION: A portable terminal 10 obtains credit ID and an encrypted key from a credit company server 2, records the credit ID into a non-disclosed area, generates a partially non-disclosed code C in which inherent ID and validity determination reference data are recoded in a disclosed area, and displays the generated code C. A read device 30 picks up an image of the partially non-disclosed code C, and determines the validity of the partially non-disclosed code C based on the validity determination reference data obtained by decoding the disclosed area. Then, when the partially non-disclosed code C is valid, the portable terminal 10 transmits the partially non-disclosed code C and settlement data to the credit company server 2.
