<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enzyme which exhibits the same emission spectrum as that of wild type Phrixothrix Red luciferase and stably emits red light at room temperature. <P>SOLUTION: Phrixothrix Red luciferase from Brazil is acquired. The enzyme is non-sensitive to pH, emits the most red light among luciferases, is low in activity as an enzyme, and is unstable. When the wild type luciferase is mutated, a red variant luciferase which is different in red, has the same emission spectrum as the natural type, and has high activity and high stability can be obtained. In addition, when a multi gene expression analysis using a luciferase emitting different light is performed, the enzyme is used for standardization for easily performing the calibration of a measuring device and the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
