PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily evaluate functions of a storage system even when a disk enclosure/hard disk drive is not installed. SOLUTION: The storage system 100 includes a disk control part 31 which determines, when receiving an instruction to a logical disk, a pool or a logical volume manager/file system from a server part 10 in an evaluation mode, that the received instruction is an instruction for a virtual logical disk, a pool or a virtual logical volume manager/file system, processes the predetermined instruction based on information stored in a memory part and returns a response to the server part 10.
