PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein in a conventionally-used humidifier for generating mist by using a two-fluid nozzle, since it is recently required to make mist finer, this requirement leads to increase in generated noise. SOLUTION: A silent humidifier includes a cylindrical silencer 11 for separating a space around a two-fluid nozzle 17 and a space between the two-fluid nozzle 17 and a blowout port 7 from other spaces. An outer peripheral side, intermediate side and inner peripheral side of the cylindrical silencer 11 comprise a sound insulating material 31, a sound absorbing material 33 and a water-proof sound absorbing material 35, respectively. A position of a discharge port 18 is adjusted so that a length (L) from the discharge port 18 of the two-fluid nozzle 17 on a centerline in a silencer interior space 37 or a foot of a perpendicular drawn from the discharge port 18 to the blowout port 7 and an area (S) of the blowout port 7 satisfy a relationship of an expression: 0.05≤S/L≤0.15.
