PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound which has strong degranulation inhibition and is useful as a type I allergy therapeutic agent, a method for producing this new compound, and a pharmaceutical composition utilizing the degranulation inhibition of the new compound. SOLUTION: The new ester compound of a propolis component is represented by formula [I] or [II] (wherein R<SB>1</SB>is an alkyl group or a phenyl lower alkyl group and R<SB>2</SB>and R<SB>3</SB>may be the same or different and are each a prenyl group, a hydroxy group, a dihydrocinnamoyl group or hydrogen) and the pharmaceutical composition contains this compound.
