The present invention provides an antigenic protein of a black-lip pearl oyster egg extract, an antibody specific to the protein, and a method of assessing the productive effort of a black-lip pearl oyster using the antibody. According to the method of the present invention, the productive effort of black-lip pearl oyster can be easily and accurately quantized, which therefore provides significant information useful in studying the life of a black-lip pearl oyster, and enables the effective management of a black-lip pearl oyster.
