Disclosed is a small-sized low-cost fuel cell device wherein leaked hydrogen can be detected. Specifically disclosed is a fuel cell device which comprises: a fuel cell main body that comprises a first electrolyte membrane sandwiched between a first anode electrode and a first cathode electrode and generates electricity by having the first anode electrode and the first cathode electrode respectively supplied with a hydrogen gas and an oxygen-containing gas; and a hydrogen leakage detection unit that comprises a second anode electrode and a second electrolyte membrane and detects a leaked hydrogen gas by generating electricity using the leaked hydrogen gas. The hydrogen leakage detection unit is arranged next to the fuel cell main body, and the first electrolyte membrane and the second electrolyte membrane are formed of the same material. |
