PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor driven by a linear motor with excellent durability. SOLUTION: This linear motor-driven compressor 100 includes first and second cylinder blocks 1, 3, a shell 5, a center housing 7, first and second end plates 11, 13, a valve unit 25, a piston 27, first and second coil springs 49, 51, coils 63a, 63b, 65a, 65b, and permanent magnets 35, 37. The permanent magnets 35, 37 are fixed on the peripheral surface of the piston 27. The piston 27 has first and second spacers 41, 43 so that the peripheral surfaces of the permanent magnets 35, 37 are separated from the inner surfaces of cylinder bores 1a, 3a.
