BINDER-COATED REFRACTORY, CASTING MOLD AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CASTING MOLD

摘要

A binder-coated refractory wherein a refractory aggregate is surface-coated with a solid coating layer containing a saccharide as a binder. In the aforesaid refractory, the refractory aggregate can be bonded by using the saccharide as a binder. When thermally decomposed, the saccharide emits no toxic gas but merely carbon dioxide and water and, therefore, is free from fear of environmental pollution. Moreover, the saccharide can be easily decomposed by heating and enables the production of a casting mold which has excellent disintegration properties.
