<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controlled-release type tamsulosin tablet exhibiting substantially no food effect. <P>SOLUTION: The controlled-release type tablet includes: a tablet matrix with tamsulosin or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof dispersed therein; and optionally an enteric coating over the matrix. In the tablet, the matrix component is selected from the group consisting of a water-swelling cellulose derivative, sodium alginate, acrylates, methacrylates, copolymers of them with various comonomers, and polyvinyl pyrrolidones; and the water-swelling cellulose derivative is hydroxypropylmethylcellulose or the like. The tablet exhibits such an elution profile that: in each of the media SIF, FaSSIF, and FeSSIF, the tablet releases not more than 60% of the tamsulosin after the lapse of 2 h in USP 2 apparatus using 500 mL of either one of the media at a paddle speed of 50-100 rpm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
