<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample processing system allowing additional processing, such as, reinspection to be executed and suppressing power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A sample housed in a sample container is measured by three measuring units 41 to manufacture a smear by a smear manufacturing device 6. Based on the measurement results of the right and middle measuring units 41, it is determined whether reinspection by the left measuring unit 41 is necessary. Furthermore, based on the measured results of the three measuring units 41, it is determined whether manufacturing of smears by the manufacturing device 6 is necessary. When it is determined that the reinspection or the manufacturing of smears is necessary in cases where the left measuring unit 41 or the manufacturing device 6 is in a resting state, the measuring unit 41 or the manufacturing device 6 is released from the resting state.
