PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain crushing of polygonal ridgeline parts when a concrete column member whose cross-sectional shape orthogonal to a member axis is polygonal (polygonal prism shape) receives a shearing force orthogonal to the member axis and is about to be deformed rotating around a lower end face or an upper end face. SOLUTION: The column member 1 is formed in such shape that the cross-sectional shape orthogonal to the member axis is polygonal and that part on the surface side including a ridgeline 4 is eliminated from at least one end face 2 in the member axis direction to the ridgeline 4 of the peripheral surface 3. The eliminated portion is formed in shape cut off on a plane or curved surface passing one point on the ridgeline 4 and respective points on two sides 5, 5 intersecting the ridgeline 4 on the end face 2.
