PURPOSE: An information processing apparatus and a control method thereof in order to distinguish the notification of an event are provided to perform proper processing by accurately distinguishing an image forming apparatus from which event notification is transmitted. CONSTITUTION: A first data, which is requested in order to notify the generation of an event, is transmitted to an image processor(S1001). A transmitting source address of second data received from the image processor is registered. A transmission address of a third data is compared with a registered transmission address in order to notify the generation of the event(S1002). The event is processed if the transmission addresses match with each other(S1005).
