PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication terminal and a method for selecting a communication method, capable of selecting a communication method having high battery utilization efficiency by keeping battery remaining time long and satisfying throughput required for an application depending on scenes.

SOLUTION: This wireless communication terminal 100 capable of selecting a plurality of communication methods includes: an application information acquisition unit 170 for acquiring a type of a used application; an evaluation amount calculation unit 166 for changing a communication method selection criterion in response to the acquired application type and calculating an evaluation amount with respect to a time obtained by adding a predetermined time to a communication method switching time; and a method selection unit 167 for comparing the calculated evaluation amounts to select any of the communication methods.
