<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device for enabling cursor operation without touching an operation part. <P>SOLUTION: An inversion part 12 inverts an image captured by a camera 30. Then, a face detection part 13 detects a face region showing the face of a user from the image inverted by the inversion part 12. Then, a representative point extraction part 14 extracts a representative points from the face region detected by the face detection part 13.
