<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system having a high-intensity discharge lamp as a main light source in which a remaining life is detected based on known physical characteristics of a discharge lamp that, when lighting ON/OFF is repeated in a short time, the remaining life is shortened faster than an actual lighting time, and to provide an information means to a user. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system is provided with a lighting status monitoring means for monitoring a lighting status of a main light source, a lighting time recording means for recording a continuous lighting time per one lighting of the main light source, a lighting time correcting means for correcting a continuous lighting time by determining a nominal life relative consumption time corresponding to the recorded continuous lighting time per one lighting, a remaining life information means for informing visually and auditorily the remaining life of the main light source. The lighting time correcting means holds a data table of the nominal life relative consumption time corresponding to the discharge lamp as the main light source in a data storage means capable of replacing data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
