PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding chair with excellent safety in handling, which may suitably maintain a folded state. SOLUTION: The folding chair includes a locking mechanism 34 including: a protrusion or recess provided on a parallel part 21 of one frame member 42; and a locking member 32 formed separately from a seat 13 and provided on a rear face of the seat 13, having a recess or protrusion formed thereon to which the protrusion or recess of the parallel part 21 of the frame member 42 is fit when the chair is folded.
