PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly improve convenience over the management of a family budget by using an electronic journal and reducing customer's time and effort of storing and filing receipts. SOLUTION: In this commodity sales system in which a commodity sales data processor 5 for performing accounting processing of a commercial transaction and a headquarters server 3 are connected communicably through a network 2, a record obtained by associating a transaction specification with a customer ID is stored in a journal file 32 of the headquarters server 3. The commodity sales data processor 5 is made to transmit the customer ID and a command for requesting a return of a transaction history, the headquarters server 3 is made to search the transaction specification associated with the received customer ID from the journal file 32 and to return the transaction history being a search result to the commodity sales data processor 5.
