PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner excellent in both low temperature fixability and transferability, and an image forming method using the toner. SOLUTION: The toner contains a binder resin and a negatively electrostatic charge control agent. The binder resin consists of: crystalline resin; and amorphous resin. The crystalline resin contains a composite resin including: a condensation polymerization-based resin component, which is obtained by condensation-polymerizing an alcohol component containing 2-10C aliphatic diol and a carboxylic component containing an aromatic dicarboxylic compound; and a styrene-based resin component. The weight ratio of the condensation polymerization-based resin component to the styrene-based resin component (condensation polymerization-based resin component/styrene-based resin component) in the composite resin is 50/50-95/5. The negatively electrostatic charge control agent is a condensation polymer obtained by condensation polymerization reaction of phenol and aldehyde, and the content of the condensation polymer is 0.5-5 pts.wt. relative to 100 pts.wt. of the binder resin.
