PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footstep of a passenger conveyor having a sash bar structure capable of using a repairing means capable of performing repairing work in a shorter time. SOLUTION: As a tread 2 formed of an assembly of a top part surface of a plurality of sash bars 1 of arranging a serration 4 in the vertical direction at a specific interval on a side surface, when an almost chipping load is applied to the sash bars, the sash bars are chipped along a stress-concentrated serration part, and are formed as the same shape as a piece for filling a chipped part, and work of shaving the chipped part in response to a shape of the piece is obviated. Since only the weaker sash bar 1 is chipped by dislocating and arranging a serration position of the adjacent sash bars 1 in a zigzag shape, the adjacent sash bars 1 are not chipped in both.
