<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide food compositions for preventing or treating kidney diseases comprising at least one food ingredient containing protein, sodium, and potassium. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided compositions for preventing or treating kidney diseases comprising at least one food ingredient containing relatively low amounts of protein, sodium, and potassium, typically protein in amounts of from about 5% to about 40%, sodium in amounts of from about 0.01% to about 1%, and potassium in amounts of from about 0.01% to about 1%, and methods comprising administering such compositions to patients susceptible to or suffering from kidney diseases for the purpose of preventing or treating kidney diseases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
