<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform good exposure control by effectively utilizing a photometric value obtained from a photometry area not corresponding to a focus detection area. <P>SOLUTION: An image pickup device has: an AF sensor (12) which detects each defocus amount of a plurality of focus detection areas; a photometric sensor (13) which detects a photometric value of each photometry area; an exposure operation part (11) which determines weighting coefficients of a first photometry area arranged in a position corresponding to the focus detection area and a second photometry area within a predetermined range in the plurality of photometry areas according to the corresponding defocus amounts, also determines the weighting coefficient of a third photometry area other than the first and the second photometry areas as a value equal to or less than the weighting coefficients of the first and the second photometry areas, and performs weighting operation using the weighting coefficients and the photometric values; and exposure control means (21, 22, 25, and 26) which makes exposure control by using the photometric values obtained by performing the weighting operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
