PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To replace a battery for a shorter time as compared with a conventional technique, in a battery replacement device of a vehicle taking the battery out of a battery storing part provided in the vehicle and storing a new battery in the battery storing part by an elevation means in a stopping state of the vehicle. SOLUTION: This elevation means 14 is constituted to be shifted to two stages of first speed without a hindrance, even if a table 16 mounted with the battery 42 abuts on the vehicle, and second speed faster than the first speed. The battery replacement device includes a plurality of replacement device side switches 25 for detecting a rising position when elevating and moving the table 16 at the second speed by contact with the vehicle to be movable integrally with the table 16. A control device 26 decelerates from the second speed to the first speed when at least one of the replacement device side switches 25 is turned ON when elevating and driving the elevation means 14.
