PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch a position of a valve element smoothly by sliding the valve element with a low operation differential pressure. SOLUTION: The four-way selector valve 1 includes: a valve body 2 having a sealed space 2a; a high pressure pipe 3 connected with the valve body 2; a low pressure pipe 4; conduits 5, 6; a valve seat 10 provided with connection ports for respectively communicating with the low pressure pipe 4 and the conduits 5, 6; and the valve element 16 sliding on the valve seat 10. The valve element 16 includes: a swelling part 16a forming a flow space 16c in it for a refrigerant; and a collar part 16b surrounding the swelling part 16a and sliding on the valve seat 10. In this structure, a first opening part 17 for communicating the conduit 5 with a high pressure chamber 13 and a second opening part 18 for communicating the conduit 5 with the distribution space 16c are formed in a connection port 7 of the conduit 5 in a process for sliding the valve element 16 and, when opening areas A1, A2 of the opening parts 17, 18 become equal, the opening area A1 (=A2) is set to be equal to or larger than 1% and equal to or smaller than 10% of a valve port diameter area B of the conduit pipe 5.
