PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage the amount of money in a money management device in an integrated manner without requiring a clerk to operate a cashier machine when withdrawing or depositing cash from or in the money management device. SOLUTION: A money management system includes a cashier machine that manages the amount of money in a financial institution office, and a money management device that can be interconnected to the cashier machine. The money management device includes: an accommodating means for accommodating money; a storage means for storing the amount of money accommodated in the accommodating means; and a communication means for sending process information including the kind, quantity and/or amount of money deposited in the accommodating means or withdrawn from the accommodating means, when money is deposited in the accommodating means or withdrawn from the accommodating means. The cashier machine includes a communication means which receives the process information from the money management means; a storage means for storing at least the amount of money stored in the cashier machine and the amount of money stored in the money management device; and a computing means which updates at least the amount of money in the money management device based on the process information.
