An image processing method for generating, from two-dimensional moving images, parallax images for three-dimensional display comprises the steps of detecting, based on a first image of the two-dimensional moving images that occurs at a given time point and a second image occurring at a time point that is different from the given time point for the first image, motion vectors between the first and second images for each of the blocks of the first image; detecting, from among the motion vectors, a deep-most vector of a part having the greatest depth; determining a difference vector between each of the motion vectors and the deep-most vector and providing the shallower depths to blocks of the first image corresponding to the motion vectors corresponding to the greater difference vectors; and generating, from the first image and the depths, one or more parallax images.
