TRANSPARENT ANTIPERSPIRANT GELS

The invention relates to transparent antiperspirant compositions in the form of a water-in-oil emulsion which contain a balanced mixture of selected oil components and emulsifiers, thereby improving the antiperspirant effect of the compositions. The transparent antiperspirant composition contains: a) 10 - 20% by weight of an outer oil phase, containing a.i) at least one symmetric, asymmetric or cyclic ester of carbonic acid with linear or branched C6 - C22 alkanols, a.ii) at least one addition product of 1 - 14 propylene oxide units to mono- or polyvalent C3 - 16 alkanols and a.iii) 0 to not more than 3% by weight of cyclomethicone, b) 75 - 90% by weight of a dispersed aqueous phase having at least one antiperspirant substance selected from aluminum-zirconium compounds, and at least one compound selected from water-soluble polyvalent C2 - C9 alkanols with 2 - 6 hydroxy groups and water-soluble polyethylene glycols with 3 - 20 ethylene oxide units, c) at least one silicone-based water-in-oil emulsifier with at least one alkyl substituent R with 4 - 20 carbon atoms, and d) at least one polyethylene glycol ether of a linear or branched C12 - C22 alkanol with 20 - 150 ethylene oxide units.
