<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader and an image forming apparatus that can smoothly discharge a printed form even if the printed form comes into contact with a bottom surface of a housing of the image reader when the printed form is discharged to the space between the image reader and image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader 1 includes a bottom wall 123 which constitutes a bottom surface of the housing 12 accommodating an optical system by being provided opposite a discharge table of a body part (image forming apparatus body) to which the printed form is discharged so as to form the space with the discharge table, is provided with not projection parts protruding to outside the housing 12, but recessed parts 42a, 42b protruding to inside the housing in a contactable area 40 that the printed form possibly come into contact with when discharged to the side of the discharge table 29, and is provided with the projection parts 43a, 43b protruding to outside the housing 12 in other areas except for the contactable area 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
