<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently stir the air in an overall room by easily controlling louvers individually, and thus to reduce a difference of indoor temperature. <P>SOLUTION: This air conditioner is equipped with: a suction port 2 for sucking air from an indoor side; a heat exchanger exchanging heat with sucked air; an air blowing fan for guiding air from the suction port 2 to the heat exchanger; a blowout port 3 provided around the suction port 2 and blowing out the air which has undergone heat exchange to the indoor side; the louvers 4, 5, 6, 7 provided in the blowout port 3 and controlling the wind direction of blown-out air; and a control device for controlling the louvers 4, 5, 6, 7. In accordance with a mode selected from a plurality of air conditioner modes, the rotational frequency of the air blowing fan and the wind direction of the louvers 4, 5, 6, 7 are controlled. One of the plurality of louvers 4, 5, 6, 7 automatically swings, and control is made so that the louver next to the louver automatically swinging is made to swing automatically every time a predetermined switch time passes.
