PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a battery, capable of shortening time necessary for permeation into an electrode of electrolytic solution by efficiently permeating the electrolytic solution into the electrode. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes step S1 of manufacturing the battery 1 that includes the electrode 2 in which a positive electrode 10 and a negative electrode 20 are laminated via a separator 30 and wound around and a case 3 consisting of a cylindrical side 3a and a bottom 3b to close one opening face of the side 3a and which houses the electrode 2. The step S1 consists of step S11 of mounting a seal material 70 on the electrode 2 and working step S13 of forming a groove 3c in the side 3a of the case 3.
