PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance attachment retaining force of cap portions (1) for a gas outlet tubular portion and to maintain airtightness by the cap portions (1) in a stable state over a long period of time concerning protective caps for gas cocks which are equipped with the cap portions (1) made of an elastic material which blocks open ends of the gas outlet tubular portions of the gas cocks in an outer periphery airtight state. SOLUTION: The cap portions (1) are configured so that ring bodies (2) which have diameters smaller than outer diameters of drums of tubular bodies (10) and are capable of moving in the axial direction are fitted over the one-sided opened tubular bodies (10) with diameters smaller than outer diameters of drums of the gas outlet tubular portions and so that the tubular bodies (10) are selectable either in a stationary state which is fixed to the gas outlet tubular portion or in attachable or detachable state which makes it possible to be attached to and detached from the gas outlet tubular portions by means of moving of the ring bodies (2) and so as to provide on both ends of the drum of the tubular bodies (10) anti-draw out engagement portions (11), (12) which retain the ring bodies (2) in anti-draw out state.
