PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel which has an excess thickness cut off to be thin-walled while restraining the lowering of rigidity of a wheel mounted flange, whereas improvement of the accuracy of surface deflection of a brake rotor mounting face is attempted. SOLUTION: The bearing device for a wheel is such that bolt inserting holes 11 into which hub bolts are fittingly pressed in are formed circumferentially at equal intervals along a wheel mounted flange 6, while hub bolts are pressed fit into these bolt inserting holes 11 for mounting a wheel. A hub wheel 4 is formed by forging, while a belt-like rib 10 is formed in a protrusive manner at the time of forging on the outer peripheral surface corresponding to those bolt inserting holes 11 on the outer peripheral surface of the wheel mounted flange 6, whereas after the hub bolts are pressed fit into the bolt inserting holes, the outer peripheral surface of the rib 10 is formed into a circular arc shape by machining.
