PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve transient responsiveness while arc stability is maintained, when an arc length is largely fluctuated in consumable electrode pulsed arc welding. SOLUTION: An output control method for pulsed arc welding is disclosed in which a welding wire is fed at a first feeding speed Fs1, forming the external characteristic of the welding power source set by a first slope Ks1, a welding current reference value Is and a welding voltage reference value Vs, and forming the external characteristic by replacing the first slope Ks1 with a second slope Ks2 having a smaller value than that of the first slope when an arc length is largely fluctuated during the welding. In the method, during the period when the external characteristic is formed by the second slope Ks2, the feeding speed Fsc is varied from the first feeding speed Fs1 to the second feeding speed Fs2 so that the fluctuation of the arc length converges. The gain of the arc length control system is increased by reducing the slope, with the feeding speed variably controlled, thereby improving the transient responsiveness. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
