PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine equipped with a needle thread tension adjusting device permitting at least one round of operation of a thread tension dial when the thread tension dial is operated with gentle torque change in operating the dial, capable of reducing the rotation torque when the dial is operated, having a good torque balance, capable of easily adjusting the needle thread tension at a low cost, and capable of easily minutely adjusting the position of needle thread tension adjustment range when the device is assembled. SOLUTION: In the needle thread tension adjusting device 10, a tension display part 17 which displays a display groove 17d is disposed in a tension setting nut 16 screw-fitted with a male threaded part 11a of a shaft 11. A converting mechanism for converting the rotation of the thread tension dial 19 attached to one end of the shaft 11 to the screw transfer is formed of the tension setting nut 16 and the thread tension dial 19. A needle thread 4 is held between thread tension discs 12 and 13 at the other end of the shaft 11, and a thread tension spring 15 and an operation stabilizing spring 18 are disposed between a spring socket 14 and the tension setting nut 16 and between the tension display part 17 and the thread tension dial 19 respectively. The needle thread tension adjusting device is fixed to a machine frame 2, and an indication groove 3a is disposed in an outer shell 3 of the sewing machine. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
