PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a permanent magnet type dynamo-electric machine having a torque output sufficiently improved only by a magnet torque without using any reluctance torque to reduce a torque ripple. SOLUTION: The permanent magnet type dynamo-electric machine includes a rotor 30A, and a stator 20 disposed opposite to the rotor 30A. The rotor 30A includes a rotor core 31A where a cross-sectional outer peripheral shape is in a true circle and permanent magnets 32A embedded in a plurality of storage holes 34 formed at an outer peripheral side of the rotor core 31A. The cross-sectional shape of the permanent magnets 32A is in a polygonal shape, and a space section is provided at least at one corner of the polygon. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
