<p>Method of treatment of rice husks according to the parent patent where the product may be moulded by extrusion under light pressure, or simply granulated and dried prior to use. The parent patent describes a treatment in which the husks are roasted in a limited supply of air or oxygen (up to 0.1 m3/kg) until they have lost 30-70% of their weight, the ash is then mixed with an alkaline earth cpd. moistured with a soln. contg. a catalyst and an the cpd. at pH >7, shaping under high pressure, ageing, wetting and then drying. In the present invention the oxygen content may be increased to 0.4 m3/kg of rice husks.</p> |
