ANTI-INFLAMMATORY COMPOSITION COMPRISING ALPHA-ISO-CUBEBENOL

PURPOSE: An anti-inflammatory composition containing alpha-iso-cubebenol or derivative thereof is provided to prevent cytoxocitiy and to suppress NO and PEG2 generationn. CONSTITUTION: An anti-inflammatory composition contains alpha-iso-cubebenol or derivative thereof. The alpha-iso-cubebenol is isolated from Schisandra chinensis Baillon. A method for isolating alpha-iso-cubebemol comprises: a step of extracting Schisandra chinensis Baillon with hexane; a step of adding the hexane extract onto column filed with silica gel; a step of fractioning hexane, hexane-ethyl acete, and chloroform-methanol mixture solvent; a step of adding nine fractions to column filled with silica gel and flowing a mixture solvent of CHCl_3 and acetone; and a step of adding fraction to the column filled with silica gel and flowing the mixture solvent of CHCl_3 and acetone.
