<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric pump unit for the transmission, which downsizes sections of an electric hydraulic pump and reduces the weight and cost, without requiring a waterproof housing for the electric hydraulic pump. <P>SOLUTION: This electric pump unit for the transmission, supplying hydraulic pressure to the transmission, includes: the pump 1 for sucking and delivering oil 0; a motor shaft 12 connected to the pump 1; and a pump driving electric motor 2 having a motor rotor 13 fixedly arranged on the motor shaft 12 and a motor stator 14 arranged around the motor rotor 13. The pump 1 and electric motor 2 are integrated with a cover 5 closing the opening of a recessed portion 4 formed in the transmission housing 3 of the transmission to introduce the oil 0, and is stored in the recessed portion 4.
