PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase electric power to be generated by nuclear power generation to double or more in order to reduce six hundred million tons annual carbon dioxide emissions in our country though the power adjustment operation of a nuclear power plant is prohibited to ensure safety of a nuclear reactor and only base electric power (the amount of night time electricity to be used) of an electric load fluctuation cycle can be generated by the nuclear power plant.
SOLUTION: [1] Carbon dioxide is electrically decomposed into stable substances by utilizing night time electricity and using existing techniques to reduce carbon dioxide. [2] Since the base electric power is increased because carbon dioxide is reduced [1], the electric power to be generated by nuclear power generation can be increased. As a result, the carbon dioxide to be discharged from a thermal power plant can be reduced. [3] The amount of electric power to be demanded is controlled because carbon dioxide is reduced [1], around 80% of gross generation of electric power is generated by nuclear power generation and the remainder is generated by a natural energy generation system to cope with load fluctuations.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
|
